Encouraging children to take an interest in cookery is an important part of developing an understanding about healthy eating and a balanced diet, but getting children to eat their 5 a day can sometimes be a struggle.
We are offering to show them how to include something nutritious and healthy (beetroot) in a daily treat (chocolate brownie)?
Our cookery demonstration with the help of one or two volunteers shows how to bake from scratch one of our best sellers in the tearoom-chocolate beetroot brownies.
Once prepared the brownies will be bakes and ready for you all to taste once you have finished the rest of your visit around the attraction.
The New Peter Rabbit garden is open and a great place to look around at the similarities grown here and what were grown by Beatrix Potter.
Our gardener could be on hand when your `group` visits to show your clients about planting and growing different varieties of plants and vegetables and any tips on your own garden. This service would be a free addition to the admission ticket.
KITCHEN GARDEN
As well as retaining popular favourites from last year like the Cumbrian Platter and Local Roast Beef, our menus for 2010 include new dishes which will use completely fresh fruit and vegetables only grown in the Peter Rabbit Garden and our new organic Kitchen Garden. This means that your guest will be eating rare heritage varieties of organic fruit and vegetables direct from our own gardens and offered when they are in season.
